dscn0696.jpg,<–I’ve missed eating these!!

Hello lovely people! So how did my cleanse go? It went WONDERFUL. I really enjoyed the whole week off food. It’s going back to food that’s a pain in the butt, really. You have to be VERY careful about how you break a fast (from water, juices, whatever) or you can really hurt yourself. Your stomach stops making all of those essential juices it needs to break down the foods. It was pretty hard for me stop eating after I got started last night…..but I did……but then I got really hungry a few hours later so I ate again. I didn’t feel well all night :( I didn’t eat a lot either. Very little in fact. No fat, no nuts, no seeds. I guess I should have stuck with fruit all day though and not gone to a salad so soon. TIP for YOU: keep it VEEERRYY simple and small the first day–no matter what. I had 10 soaked prunes (it’s how it’s recommended ) and told my naturopath about it and she said I should have had just one! Oh well next time, right? It’s a trial and succeed process for sure. I still feel great and clear headed and I’ll definitely be doing the Blessed Herbs cleanse again come spring time. I’ll probably try to add in even more things too. My naturopath was very surprised when she heard all of the things I did (see previous entry) along with the kit. And impressed. I didn’t eat for 6 1/2 days. I rock! Haha. I love loving myself in this way!

I have to say that the raw food lifestyle does wonders to your self-esteem. I used to have the biggest issues about self-love and really treated myself like crap but now I don’t. I also have to admit that I am really into Abraham-Hicks, which bangs into your head how worthy we all are. When it comes to food, I read the book The Slow Down Diet and that also was very eye-opening. Read it. It’s good!! There a lot of us, even raw foodists, eat on the run, “grabbing” food (Dorit spoke of this at The Raw Summit), downing shakes and smoothies in minutes. After reading this book, I learned how to slooooow doooown. While everyone else around me in the office is working away during their lunch breaks, I eat….period (or at least 90% of the time). I don’t pick up the phone, don’t talk business, etc. Everyone knows this and respects me for it. It’s nice. Raw food has taught me how to slow down and really enjoy the food and the nourishment it gives my body. Since breaking my fast, I’ve set the intention to bless all of my food by intending that it to do the highest good for my body. I am also intending to eat the perfect amount of food. I think that in time, this will have a really powerful effect on me. Fun, new resolutions are NOT just for New Year’s!

Up next…traveling tips. Be forewarned: buy baggies!

Love, ~Lenette

P.s. for any of you in Chicagoland–I’m hosting a meetup this Saturday at 2pm at Cousin’s and would love for you to come! Please rsvp though.  Hope to see you there :)
