I’m now five days into the detox I spoke of two blogs ago and I’m really enjoying it. More time, more clarity, more energy, more productivity, more restful sleep, more pondering about life. Good stuff! If only I could go on these ginger/apple shakes forever….j/k. But they are pretty good. I do kinda miss eating all of my yummy superfoods. I just got all of my stuff from California yesterday (mainly furniture and mementos from my parents’ house) and a lot of the foods I bought at the Raw Spirit Fest came with it. I think that’s what’s I’m looking forward to eating most :)
But back to the detox…I think it’s been HIGHLY effective so far in terms of how I’m feeling and what I’m seeing. Pretty good stuff for an eight day cleanse. I’m also incorporating a number other things–probiotics, Beauty Enzymes, Gall Bladder/Liver Cleanse tablets from my naturopath (they are made by Good Herbs Inc.), apple cider vinegar drinks (see recipe below–it’s by the Braggs), E3, homemade green juices, Rejuvelac, rebounding AND I have an appointment with a c-therapist on Saturday at Karyn’s Inner Beauty Center. I might as well call it the Lenette detox instead of the Blessed Herbs detox since I’ve customized it so much! ;) I’m juicing the apples myself so everything is raw although I did buy a gallon of organic, unfiltered apple juice from Whole Foods just in case it got to be too much or if I got too tired to juice. Turns out I’m not going to need it after all (a good thing) since I don’t need to add too much to the shakes to make it go down. Just 2-3 ounces does the trick.
(Pasteurized juice anyone? :) Maybe I’ll leave it outside my back door–I wonder if one of the neighborhood homeless people would take it??)
Stay tuned for the final analysis of the detox. But so far, so good. Definitely easier than the master cleanse. I may even add a gall bladder flush (using oil and lemon) to the tail end of this one if I’m up for it. We’ll see.
Interested in how to make a VERY healthy alternative to apple juice? The apple cider vinegar drink I referred to above can be made using:
8 ounces of room temperature water
2 tablespoons of Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar
1-2 tablespoons of Raw honey
Shake an enjoy. The benefits are numerous and can be found in this book.
To your health,
Lenette
